Technical Aspects of Web Archiving

The archiving of websites is a rather new phenomenon. The technical tools to acquire and archive selected data are still in continuous development.

One of the challenges is to meet the high dynamics in the presentation of online content appropriately and to obtain tools to ensure a one-to-one representation of such content in the archive. Therefore, full and complete acquisition of data is necessary and it must be ensured in a second step that the archived content is made available appropriately.
